Admissions Criteria

*Internship applicants must have a minimum 2 years psychology or related education.

  • Belief in holistic well-being

Holistic well-being is the willingness to work not just with individuals, but with other members of that person’s familial and friendship network.

We believe that individualizing people rather than strengthening their connections to their communities is one reason so much suffering exists.

    • • •
  • Advocate for Social Justice

We expect all our interns to advocate for social justice. This can take a variety of forms, and may include: representing client needs in committees, writing articles in newspapers and magazines, appearing on television and radio interviews, and engaging in emancipatory and empowering community-based research.

    • • •
  • Comfortable with Unpredictability

We pride ourselves in saying ‘yes’ to any initiatives that can benefit vulnerable clients. Any new program or new relationship with a community partner often comes with a degree of uncertainty. Those who can handle such uncertainty and remain calm in the face of change will do well here at Moving Forward.

    • • •
  • Is MFFS the right fit for you?

Are you flexible? All of our team members are expected to be flexible in regards to the use of space.

    • • •
  • Are you organized and professional? We expect all our interns to undertake their own administrative tasks. Interns will contact clients and arrange appointments themselves. We expect that interns are timely in their responses to emails and calls and that they are on time to all appointments.
